I have never played carrom. I just ordered a green board and numbered coins. This video is awesome.thanks so much for the helpful information.
During the era of Maria Sir and Nissar Sir, the temperament of the frame was different from today's. It was very difficult to open the coins in a break. It was their talent by which they used to open the coins in an artistic manner and finish the game. We can say all the players mentioned in this video and other legends upto middle of 90s were artists of game of Carrom. That artistic game is missing now. Time changed and game changed.

Im new to carrom. I see most carrom players use boric powder on the board . In america boric powder is a pesticide . How is it not harmful ?
